Severe Weather Criteria
1. Hail. (Relationship to coin size is
helpful).
2. Winds of 40 Mph or greater.
3. Tornadoes, Funnel Clouds, Waterspout or
Wall Clouds. (Be sure you know the difference).
4. Storm related damage. If trees are damaged,
know the diameter, number of trees and whether the tree is
healthy or not.
5. Heavy Rain in excess of 1 inch per hour.
6. Flash flooding.
7. Any other weather related information requested by the
National Weather Service.
Reporting Severe Weather:
1.What:
What type of severe weather you are reporting.
What type of damage has occured.
2.When:
The local time you received or made the report.
The actual time of the occurrence.
3.Where:
Location of the weather activity
4.Who:
Who reported the information to you. Amateur
radio or another service.
